Event Description
BDYM has partnered with the Detroit Police Department, Wayne County Circuit Judge Deborah Thomas, Lions Club International, Motown Alumni Association, the Black Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, Youth Under Construction, and Muse Ark TV. The contest encourages entertainers in three age groups to submit their audio or videos on the website Change Detroit For Good.
There are over $1000 in prizes awarded to winners in each of the three age categories.
All genres of vocal performance encouraged: rock, soul, funk, hip hop, jazz, gospel, poetry, rap, blues, ... we ask that your message is positive, non-sexual, and ORIGINAL. Sing about safe streets and what they offer, school, stopping crime, and neighborhoods. Tell us what YOU find uplifting in Detroit.
