Getting Involved.......What's an Adult to Do???

Had a great time with several of the youth from the Better Detroit Youth Movement. Asia, Mya, Mela & Mae participated in the Youth Summit sponsored by the Freedom Institute. All and all everything was okay...but the highlight occurred when several of the youth got an opportunity to participate in a mock interview provided by Ford Motor Company Exec's. The Youth represented very well - Mya, Mela & Mae..... (Asia's still a baby so her time is coming LOL..) Any way the Exec's were very pleased with the confidence, poise and professionalism of the BDYM representatives. These are the things that Detroit Adults need to focus on and demand that our media focus on. Many of our Youth are Phenomenal!!! & Should be highlighted and recognized daily - they are the mentors and examples that their peers need to see. So again big ups to the crew. We also had an opportunity to explore DT Detroit and CPOP. Just another day in the Big D.

Question of the year though? Why is there such a disconnect in the generations and how can we as adults remove the gap that is hindering our children's future? What's an Adult to Do??????????????????
