Juneteenth symbolizes overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles, the pursuit of knowledge and the determination to achieve greatness. It is also a time to celebrate our histories, assess ourselves, improve ourselves and plan our futures. Having evolved into a cross-cultural celebration, Juneteenth challenges each of us “to be the change we want in the world. Our City and Youth are in crisis. We know that love never fails. Well our city is in need of prayer, new leadership and new direction. Prayer changes the atmosphere” Detroit is definitely in need of a new beginning!
Please share and spread word to High School Juniors and Seniors (Class of 2010-2011) about the upcoming Scholarship Fair on Wednesday September 23 4-8pm at Joe Dumars Fieldhouse. Read (and share) the event posting to get full details on the required documents needed. $20 million in scholarships is to be rewarded!
